When I go over supplements with my patients, I often take them off more than I start them on. Why? Because so many guys are taking CRAPPY supplements – either stuff they don’t need or stuff they do need, but are too low-quality to get any benefit from. So many otherwise sophisticated patients too easily take advice from Men’s Health magazine or a trainer with limited knowledge (many trainers are AWESOME at nutrition and supplements, but not all) or a buddy at the gym. They end up taking things that are a complete waste of money or potentially harmful. Please, ask your doctor (hopefully that’s me!) about ALL of the supplements you’re taking – be sure to know which brands, in what quantity, and how often – because they should ask you for that (I know I would).
Why do the brands matter? Many of you may have heard about the findings of adulterated and fake supplements being sold at GNC, Walgreen’s, Target, Walmart and on Amazon – all detailed in a report of findings from the New York State attorney general’s office. Supplements are not regulated effectively in the U.S., so even if you are making good decisions about the type of vitamin, herb or botanical to buy, unless you are savvy about which brands are high-quality, you could be getting ripped off by fake ingredients or even endangering your health from chemicals, heavy metals, or hidden pharmaceuticals in the supplement.
I definitely think supplements can be important for optimal health. In fact, I created a list of the top ones I recommend for most men in my guide: Top 10 Supplements for men. I’ve written other blog posts about specific supplements for certain issues such as mental performance, sex drive, and which ones to avoid.
To make it easy in terms of figuring out WHAT supplements to take and WHICH BRANDS are best, I created a bundle that works for almost every guy. This bundle covers all of your needs. You can buy a 2-month supply with just a few clicks from a company that creates some of the best quality products available – Metagenics. They do research with their products, publish the results, and are a recognized global leader in high quality supplements.
When you get to my page, scroll down to see: Dr. Spar’s Men’s Essentials: 2 month program.
Click “View More” to see what is included in the bundle. You will get:
• Serenagen – this is a classic Chinese formula for stress management that works wonders at keeping you calm and focused. Take 2 at the start of your day with or without food.
• Wellness Essentials Men’s Vitality – this is a packet that includes an outstanding multivitamin to support cellular health and prevent illness, Zinc for immune and prostate support, Omega 3 fatty acids (fish oil) to fight inflammation, help mood and prevent heart disease, libido and sexual function nutritional support and a testosterone support formula that I love. You take this packet of 6 pills all at once with your first meal. If you’re doing intermittent fasting like I am, it’s easy to throw this in your pocket and take it with lunch.
• Coenzyme Q10 – this is an essential nutrient for energy production and is particularly important for heart health. You can take this along with the vitamin packet.
• Magnesium Glycinate – take 2 at bedtime for relaxation, calming tight muscles, and for nervous system health.
At the bottom of this page click “Add To Cart” and you will be all set to enter your information and to have it delivered to your door.
This combination is made up of top-tier quality products and incorporates all of my recommendations in my more comprehensive Top 10 Supplements for Men guide. If you’d like some more detailed information on why I recommend the above supplements, click on this link for a copy: Top 10 Supplements for Men Guide.
The great thing is, on this site, I have curated the best of the best for you – so you don’t have to worry about buying unsafe products or wasting your money on something that doesn’t do anything.
I’d love to hear how you feel on these supplements, so please reach out with comments of questions by emailing me to Myles@DrSpar.com.
